Barbara Jean Grant, 80, died at 4:25 a.m. Sunday, June 24, 2012 at Edwardsville Nursing and Rehab. in Edwardsville, IL. Born November 25, 1931 in Alton, she was the daughter of William Clark and Bernadine Lucretia (Lister) Hardin Sr. She worked as a retail clerk at the Hobby Shop in Upper Alton. She married Robert L. Grant in March of 1951. He preceded her in death on July 19, 2001. Surviving is a daughter, Michelle Grant of Portland, Oregon, one son, Robert L. Grant Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Edwardsville, six grandchildren, Heather (Randy) Donaldson, James (Jennifer) Grant, Ben (Rebecca) Grant, Jessica (Chris) Olsen, Heidi Grant and fiancé Erik Moss, and Bridgette Grant, six great grandchildren, one brother William C. Hardin Jr. and his wife Donna of Godfrey, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, David Clark Grant. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 28, 2012 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
