Barbara Jean Eby, age 79, of Alton, passed away Tuesday, June 03, 2014, at her home.She was born March 4, 1935, in Alton, the daughter of William S. and Mary Ellen (Stephens) Miles. She worked as a charger at Olin for many years. Barbara loved to crochet, make crafts, camping, and spending time with her family. She especially loved her dog, Chi Chi.She is survived by nine children and their spouses, Billie and Robert Hoxsie of Elsah, Kathy Ball of Alton, Jackie and Keith King of Selma, AL, Mark Burns of Cottage Hills, Lawana Hunciker and companion Vinny Saggio of Wood River, Dawn and Bob Phillips of Alton, Tammy and Devin Clendenny of Cottage Hills, Troy and Yvonne Eby of Edwardsville, and Kathleen and Alvin Bienemann of Wood River; a brother-in-law, Junior V. Self; a cousin, Henry “Sonny” and Ruth Lamb; twenty-one grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.She is preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Lavonna Burns; a loving step-father, Robert “Jack” Geisler; and a sister, Doris Mae Self.Visitation will be held Thursday, June 5, 2014, from 4 to 8:00 pm, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton. Funeral service will be held Friday, June 6, 2014, at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel with Henry “Sonny” Lamb officiating.
