Audrey J. Barrows, 95, of Cottage Hills, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2025.
She was born on January 26, 1930, in Alton, IL, the daughter of Riley and Pauline (Hendricks) Bruce. She married Ronald E. Barrows in Texarkana, AR, on April 6, 1952. He preceded her in death on June 4, 2010.
Audrey enjoyed working and did so until she was 86 years old, finishing her bookkeeping career at Winters Heating and Cooling. She cherished the time she spent camping with her husband on the Mississippi River. She also enjoyed traveling. Most of all, Audrey was a proud grandma to Brock.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Brent and Monica Barrows of Bethalto; her grandson, Brock Barrows of Bethalto; a brother, Ronnie Bruce of Roxana; and a sister, Helen Barrows of Kansas City, MO.
Along with her husband, Ronald, and parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Dale Bruce, Ann Hatten, Georgia Lowe, and Paul Bruce.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025, from 11:30 am until time of service at 1 pm, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Pastor Terry McKinzie will officiate. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
