Audrey Lawrence

Audrey Ann Lawrence, 84, passed away at 6:35am on Friday, March 12, 2021, at her residence.  She was born on January 16, 1937, in Hardin County, Illinois, the daughter of the late Winfred and Mary (Walker) Daymon.  Ann was raised by her grandmother Georgeann Daymon and her uncle Allen and his wife Nola Daymon.  She married Leslie E. Lawrence on February 10, 1967, in Bunker Hill and he preceded her in death on April 12, 2011. 

Survivors include her children and their spouses: Terry and Joyce Beavers of Roodhouse, Sherri and Ron Smith of Roodhouse, Illinois, Elza and Melanie Beavers of Staunton, Illinois, Jeff Lawrence of Bethalto, Illinois, her daughter in law: Marcella Beavers, her beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren,  her BJC Hospice family, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.

Ann worked at the Alton Mental Health Center for thirty years and retired as a supervisor.  She was a dedicated volunteer and was especially dedicated to BJC Hospice.  She was a member of the Vaughn Hill Church of Christ

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son: Jerry Beavers and a great-grandson: Ronald Smith.

In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 5 pm to 7 pm on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River.  Private funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at the funeral home.  Brian Magnuson will officiate.  Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.

Due to the current COVID 19 restrictions, face masks are required and social distancing guidelines will be adhered to.

Memorials are suggested to BJC Hospice of Alton and will be accepted at the funeral home.
