Arthur L. Redman, 80, passed away at 11:18 pm, Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Alton Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Alton, IL on January 4, 1933 the son of the late David E. and Carolyn (Davis) Redman.

He married Nancy Dalton in Alton on November 21, 1953.

Arthur worked as a brick mason for Alton Brick Layers Local 8 for 33 years and was a Veteran of the US Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed deer hunting with his black powder rifle, archery and visiting the local Mister Donuts. He also owned and showed horses but he enjoyed being with his family most of all.

He is survived by his wife Nancy of 61 years; two sons, Daniel Redman of Godfrey, Dean Redman and his fiancée Mertila Cantoria of Niskayuna, NY; one daughter and her spouse, Linda and David Pace of Shipman, IL; eight grandchildren, Amy Khuhro, Michael Redman, Ryan Pace, Lea Voorhees, Cari Young, Marcella Seiser, Rhonda Redman and Andrei Cantoria; along with fifteen great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, George and David Redman; three sisters, Helen Redman, Lois Feldman and Dorothy Bacus.

Visitation will be from 4 pm to 6 pm on Friday, May 31, 2013 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey, IL.

Military rites will be accorded by the Alton VFW Post 1308 Ritual Team.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
