Arlene M. French, 78, passed away Friday, May 6, 2016 at Christian Hospital Northeast.
Born on October 12, 1937 in West Point, NE, she was the daughter of Ben and Sylvia (Toelle) Michaelis.
She had worked as a sales associate for the Wood River K-Mart before retiring.
On January 21, 1962 in Wood River, she married Lester French. He survives.
Surviving also are a son, Don French of Chicago; daughter, Deborah Spencer of Wood River; two granddaughters, Eboni and Marqui Spencer; two brothers, Jim (Sharon) Michaelis, Dennis (Linda) Michaelis all of Nebraska sisters-in-law Carolyn Michaelis and Iona Michaelis both of Nebraska; and sisters, Jean Popken, Ruth (Willie) Nagengast all of Nebraska.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and two brothers, Bob and Kenneth Michaelis.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
Burial will follow in Woodland Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
