Arleen Heggemeier, 86, passed away at 3:05 pm Friday March 25, 2011 at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton.
She was born October 2, 1924 in Alton, the daughter of Rev. Otto and Elda (Brandhorst) Heggemeier.
She was a teacher and held the position of Professor of Music with Western Maryland College in Westminster, MD for 39 years. She received a Bachelor and Master degree at Oberlin Conservatory of Music in Oberlin, OH and a Doctorate degree from North Western University in Evanston, IL in music. Arleen was a member of the Evangelical United Church of Christ, the American Association of University Women and Music Teachers National Association.
Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday March 28, 2011 at the Evangelical Church of Christ in Godfrey.
Per her wishes cremation rites will be accorded.
