Anthony “Tony” Marmino, 85, passed away at 12:25am on Saturday, January 5, 2013, at Alton Memorial Hospital. He was born on August 31, 1927, in Alton, Illinois the son of the late Charles and Rose (Pasquale) Marmino. He married the former Lucretia Smith on October 18, 1944, in Alton and she survives. Other survivors include three sons and two daughters in law: Randy and Kathy Marmino of Bethalto, Dana Marmino of Springfield, Illinois, Tod and Colleen Marmino of Brighton, three grandchildren: Lisa M. Land, Andi Pace, Jacob Marmino, four great grandchildren: Cody Land, Katy Land, Cooper Pace, Avery Pace, sister and brother in law: Ann and Joe McCarthy of Bethalto, a sister in law: Francis Mormino of Alton, and several nieces and nephews.
He was formerly employed at Laclede Steel as a supervisor for 30 years prior to his retirement in 1982.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and two sisters.
In celebration on his life, visitation will be from 11am to 1pm on Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Burial will follow at Brighton Cemetery in Brighton, Illinois.
Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor’s choice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
