Annabelle B. Flenner, formerly of Tuscon, AZ, age 82, died at 5:08 pm, Thursday December 16, 2010, at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton. She relocated to Alton in 2008 to be near her niece.
She was born on January 14, 1928 in Brookston, IN to Henry and Elisa (Schlatter) Baer.
She married William H. Flenner on September 18, 1950 in West Memphis, Arkansas. He preceded her in 1997.
Annabelle grew up in Francisville, IN on the family farm and graduated in 1946 from North Judson High School in North Judson, IN. She started her career in Gary, IN and pursued it in Chicago as a businesswoman. She retired from Hollymatic Corporation in 1987 where she was in logistics. She and her husband Harry traveled in their motor home for ten years. She loved animals especially her miniature French Poodle Rene`, cooking, and children.
She is survived by one brother Roy and his wife Evelyn Baer of Gentry AR; three nieces, Esther Smith of Decatur, IL, Jean Deall of Alton, IL, Susan and her husband Edward Kreitner of Alton, IL, one nephew Stephen and his wife Sandra Flenner of Dublin, OH; and many great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Emily and Katherine May, and a brother Reuben Baer.
Visitation will be 2:00pm to 5:00pm Sunday December 19, 2010 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton. Funeral service will be at 2:00pm on Monday December 20, 2010 at the funeral home, with Chaplain Bruce E. Baumberger officiating.
