Anna Ruth Webster, 97, of Bethalto, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at 3:25 p.m.
She was born on June 11, 1927, in Calhoun County, the daughter of Henry and Sadie (Sidwell) Baugh. She married Charles R. Webster in Hardin, IL, on September 15, 1945. He preceded her in death on July 30, 1997.
Anna was of the Christian faith. She is a past member of the Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Kampsville, IL. She also enjoyed gardening especially tending to her flowers, traveling with her husband, and doing laundry. watching sports; especially watching her grandchildren play, sewing, and quilting. Anna Ruth loved and cherished her grandchildren and great grandchildren and they were they light of her life.
She is survived by her children, Sue (Kerby) Suhling of Glenarm, IL, Margaret Lee Laux of Bethalto, Pam Watson of Jerseyville, Charles (friend, Carolyn) Webster of Holiday Shores, Sandy (Dixie) Deibel of St. Louis, MO, and Douglas Webster of Alton; thirteen grandchildren, Kim, Scott, Blake, Todd, Ty, Sam, Ross, Trevor, Nichole, Chris, Jared, Xenna, and Jay; and 25 great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, and husband, Charles, she was preceded in death by seven brothers; a sister; a daughter, Karen Funk; an infant son, Richard Eugene; a grandchildren, Nathan Alderfer; Chase Watson, Kara Beth Watson, Danika Alderfer ; and a special friend Will Gould.
Per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A graveside service will take place at Indian Creek in Kampsville at a later date.
The family will host a memorial celebration on Sunday, December 22, 2024, from 1 to 4 p.m. at The Brick House in Bethalto.
