Anna Marguerite Zimmerman, 87, died at 4:55 a.m. Friday, September 09, 2011 at Relais Bonne Eau in Edwardsville. Born April 24, 1924 in Campti, LA, she was the daughter of James and Viana (LeDoux) Cady. She graduated from Moody Bible Institute in 1948. On April 22, 1949 in Chicago, she married Daniel William Zimmerman. Together they served as missionaries in Gao, Mali, West Africa for 31 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Grafton. Along with her husband, she is survived by their children, Daniel W. (Debra) Zimmerman of Wood River, John E. (Cheryl) Zimmerman of Kansas City, KS, Martha (Doug) Bicket of Sparta, IL, David J. (Vickie) Zimmerman of Rimouski, Quebec, Canada, Mirian (Paul) Speer of St. Catherine’s, Ontario, 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and one sister, Dorothy Richardson. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Willis, John, and Harry Cady. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, September 11, 2011 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton and will continue from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 12, 2011 at Brown Street Baptist Church in Alton. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. Pastor William Hendricks will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Bible Institute of Gao, Mali.
