JERSEYVILLE- Anna Mae Norton, 89, died at 2:10 p.m., Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Jersey Community Hospital in Jerseyville.She was born in Pittsfield on Dec. 19, 1924, and was one of six children born to the late Homer & Leona (Norton) Roads.Anna grew up in Pike County, and graduated from Milton High School. Soon after graduation, she married Harold Eugene Norton in Palmyra, Mo. in 1943. During their married life they resided in Auburn for the majority, and after the death of her husband in 1970, Anna moved to Jerseyville.She was employed at Home Savings & Loan in Alton, and was also a sales clerk and Farm & Home Supply in Jerseyville for many years retiring in 2008 after suffering a stroke.Surviving are a son & daughter in law, Gary & Judy Norton of Ottawa; two daughters & a son in law, Connie Norton of Virden and Sandy & Basil Platto of Jerseyville; seven grandchildren; 14 Great Grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; a sister, Helen Moore of Pittsfield; and a brother, Earl Roads of Pittsfield.In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Clifford Norton who died in an automobile accident in 1963 and Roger Norton who was killed in Vietnam in 1967; a sister, Maxine Potocki; and two brothers, Leon Roads and David Roads.Visitation will be from 10 a.m Monday until time of funeral services at 11:30 a.m., at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville. Rev. Donald Stribling will officiate.Graveside services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday at the Pittsfield West Cemetery in Pitttsfield.Memorials may be given to the Disabled American Veterans.
