Anna L. Farlow, 89, died at 7:26 a.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Alton Memorial Hospital. Born November 15, 1921 in Alton, she was the daughter of William and Grace (Drennan) Fensterman. She retired from the housekeeping and laundry department of the Catholic Children’s Home after 35 years of service. Surviving is a daughter, Connie Shirley of Wood River, three grandchildren, Tammy Smith, Jamie Angleton, and Michele Devore Outhouse, six great grandchildren, James Outhouse, Krystle Newby, Alexis Scheffer, Bryan Copeland, Shana Manns, and Savana Manns, and one great great grandchild, Shane Edelen. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl and Lou Fensterman, and one sister, Marie Lesich. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until time of funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 15, 2011 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Godfrey. Father Peter Donohoe will officiate. Memorials may be made to the family.
