Anna Mae Cain, 79, died at 9:24 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2024 in the Emergency Room at Jersey Community Hospital.

She was born on January 21, 1945 in Fieldon, Illinois, one of six children born to the late Otis Henry and Lola May (Talley) Dunham.

She married Glennwood Archie Cain on April 1, 1962 at Bethel Methodist Church in Dow, and together their 62 years of marriage has been blessed with many wonderful memories together.

Anna lived her life centered around two profound focuses throughout her life: Faith and Family. She loved God and everyone that she met, and lived her life a true Angel on Earth.

She was devout in her Christian Faith, and began her faith journey at the First Assembly of God Church in Jerseyville, followed by the Nutwood Full Gospel Tabernacle, and has been a longtime member of LifechurchX (formerly Charity Christian Center) in Jerseyville.

She was a faithful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and a friend to many. There was nothing that brought her greater joy in this world than having her family together.

Surviving are her husband, Glenn Cain of Jerseyville; four children, Sharon (Denny) Jackson of Rockbridge, Donna (Greg) Weishaupt of Hamburg, Lisa (Jon) Shrimpton of Grafton and Philip Cain of Jerseyville; eleven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; as well as a brother and sister in-law, Melvin and JoAnn Dunham of Jerseyville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Hess; as well as four brothers and a sister in-law, Thomas Dunham, Kenneth Dunham, Richard Dunham and Carl Dunham.  

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at LifechurchX in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Thursday. Anna’s brother in-law, Rev. Wilbur Cain will officiate.

Burial will follow at the Fieldon Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to LifechurchX, in care of Crawford Funeral Home, 1308 State Highway 109, Jerseyville, IL 62052, who has been entrusted with arrangements.
