Ann W. Rowan was born July 27, 1952 to Bernard J. and Peggy J. Ursch. She died on February 6, 2025 at her home with her beloved husband and kitty by her side.
Ann attended St. Mary’s Catholic Grade School and graduated from Alton High School in 1970. She married Bill Rowan on July 6, 2012 and he survives.
She is also survived by two much loved sons, Scott (Jill) Monroe and Chad Monroe and a step-son, Mike Rowan. Additionally, she leaves two cherished sisters, Karen Fitzgerald and Sally Ursch, seven nieces and nephews, and nine great nieces and nephews, a brother-in-law, Chris Rowan (Eleanor), and a sister-in-law, Mary Beth McDonald (Brian).
In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her brother, Tom Ursch, step-father, Ralph Milford and a brother-in-law, John Fitzgerald.
In her mom’s tradition, Ann loved animals. She enjoyed warm, sunny weather and flowers. She liked a good movie, made beautiful jewelry and enjoyed setting a pretty table. She was very interested in politics and would not back away from a lively political debate.
Ann was the first sales professional for Mobile Help (Boca Raton, FL), a national manufacturer/distributor of a medical alert button. As the company grew to over 20 salespeople, she remained the top salesperson nearly every month for her entire tenure at the company.
Ann enjoyed her caregivers; RN Alyssa, bath aide, Meka, social worker, Ariel, and especially the “Care Bear” team; Cheryl, Robin, Danielle and Rhonda. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 15, 2025 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton. Father Don Roberts will officiate. Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Godfrey. Memorials may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association. Gent Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.
