Alice L. New, 92, of Swansea, IL, born September 6, 1932, in Lake Charles, LA, passed away Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.

Alice graduated from Jennings High School in Jennings, LA. She also attended Oklahoma State University. As a homemaker, Alice loved raising her children and keeping a beautiful home.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Lt. Col Guy E. New, whom she married on June 2, 1951, and who died on March 4, 2011; a son, Charles S. New; her parents, Arthur R. and Grace E., nee Thomas, Green; a brother, Jerry R. Green; a grandson, Richard Thomas New; her half-brother, Jerry R. Green; a son-in-law, John L. Loesche; her foster parents, David Thomas and Jacqueline Thomas and their daughter, Johnnie R. Thomas Blanchard.

Surviving are her three children and daughter-in-law, Guy T. (Terrie) New of San Antonio, TX, Wanda New of Fairhope, AL, Jacqueline New Loesche (Bart Bergkoetter) of Belleville, IL, and Jon “Mike” (Kathy) New of Demopolis, AL; three grandchildren, Guy C. New, Alice Elizabeth New, and J. Tyler (Lisa) Loesche; three great-grandchildren, Liam A. New and Laurie L. and Levi T. Loesche; and many dear nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 9 to 11:15 a.m. Friday, November 29, 2024, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11:15 a.m. Friday, November 29, 2024, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Burial will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
