Alice M. Maher, age 91, passed away at 10:33 AM on December 16, 2020 at Riverside Rehab and Healthcare in Alton, IL.
Alice was born December 24, 1928 Alton, Illinois, the daughter of Clem Noll and Alvina Joehl.
She married Joseph P. Maher Jr. on September 11, 1954 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton, IL. He preceded her in death on October 16, 2010.
Alice was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton and served as an election judge. She enjoyed playing cards, going to the Alton Belle Casino and was a splendid golfer; with not one, but two aces.
Alice is survived by five children and spouses; Linda & John Battuello of Bunker Hill, Michael J. Maher of Bethalto, Terry & Robin Maher of Sautee Nacoochee, Georgia, Cindy Maher of Tempe, AZ, and Chris & Tamara Maher of Anna, TX; grandchildren and spouses, John & Mary Battuello, Brian & Abbi Battuello, Patrick & Calli Battuello, Katie Maher, Luke Maher, Adam & Lauren Maher, Madison Maher, Christopher Maher, Ariel Maher, Danielle Maher, Rachel Maher and Thomas Maher; five great-grandchildren, Scarlett Battuello, Kendall Battuello, Sydney Battuello, Vinny Battuello and Leo Battuello; sister-in-law, Rosalind Noll and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, brother and sister-in-law, Clem and Rosalind Noll; sisters Georgia Wendle and Joanie Downes and daughter-in-law, Linda George.
A private visitation will be held Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey, IL.
There will be a private Funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Saturday, December 19, 2020 followed by private burial at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Alton.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary‘s Catholic Church in Alton.
