Alice Maryetta Hoffman, 73, of Granite City, Illinois, passed away at 9:10 p.m. on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Bria of Alton.
She was born March 27, 1951, in St. Louis, Missouri, a daughter of the late George and Juanita (Finchem) Brown.
Alice cared for many people through the years working in home healthcare and was a faithful member of Second Baptist Church in Granite City and a longtime member of the Lions Club in Pontoon Beach. She had the biggest heart for everyone, always willing to help others and never met a stranger. She had a love for animals, listening to music, dancing, enjoyed the outdoors, camping and hanging out at Horseshoe Lake with her husband. She enjoyed cooking for her family. She cherished her family and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.
She is survived by two sons: Danny Sullivan of Granite City and Jimmy (Bre Reno) Hoffman of Granite City; a daughter, Margie (Rich) Cheung of Granite City; six grandchildren, Amanda (Abe) Smith, Darryl (Kaylee) Fisher, Michael (Catherine) Fisher, Kevin (Jillian) Chadwick-Fisher, Chelseah Piper, James Hoffman and William Cheung; nine great grandchildren, Abegail Smith, Jayce Byrd, Connor Fisher, Killian Chadwick-Fisher, Maia Fisher, Finnian Chadwick-Fisher, Lilith Hoffman, Ivy Lee Hoffman and Aurelia Chadwick-Fisher; a brother, Barney Brown of Cahokia; close friend, Debra; several nieces and nephews; other extended family and friends.
She was preceded by her beloved husband, Frederick Hoffman who passed away on May 17, 2021; a daughter, Pamela Sullivan; a sister, Rose Endicott and a brother, Michael Brown.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Monday, February 10, 2025, from 4 p.m. until time of a funeral service at 6 p.m. with Pastor Chris Sedabres officiating.
