Alan Ray Bruhn, 63, of Bunker Hill, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at his residence.

He was born on March 12, 1961, in Staunton, IL, the son of Harry and Velma (Pike) Bruhn. Alan married the love of his life, Patricia A. Daube on January 12, 1985, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Worden. She preceded him in death on June 27, 2004.

Alan was the owner and operator of Schutz Tomboy Market in Wood River and also the manager at Tractor Supply in Alton and Litchfield. Alan was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Worden and Meat Cutters Union Local 88. You could often find Alan at auctions as he loved to frequent them. Alan loved having farm animals, and had many over the years. He also loved spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter, Avery, who he referred to as his "Bestie" and "Pee-wee".

Survivors include his daughter, Ashley (Robert) Mayernik of Bunker Hill; a granddaughter, Avery Mayernik; and four siblings, Raymond (Claudia) Bruhn of Staunton, Larry (Jocelyn) Bruhn of Wood River, Jayne (Ron) Badtke of Union Grove, WI, and David Bruhn of Worden.

Along with his parents and wife, Patricia, he was preceded in death by a step-mother, Mae Bruhn; a brother, Robert Bruhn; and a nephew, Aaron Bruhn.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2024, from 1 to 4 pm, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Funeral services will be on Monday, May 6, 2024, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Worden at 11 am. Pastor Heath Curtis will officiate.

Inurnment will be on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at 11 am, at Worden Lutheran Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Alan's granddaughter, Avery Mayernik.
