Robert "Bob" Stanley Langin, 83, passed away 4:45 a.m. Monday, July 28, 2014 at Midwest Rehab and Respiratory Center in Belleville.
Born in Mt. Vernon on October 11, 1930, he was the son of Faye and Helen L. (Bancroft) Langin.
A Korean War army veteran and member of Wood River Masonic Lodge #1062, Bob owned and operated Langin Body Shop in Wood River and Langin Auto Sales before retiring.
Survivng are two daughters, Cathy (Roger) Vargas of Belleville, Karen (Marvin) Smiley of Creve Couer, MO; eight grandchildren, Steven, Aaron, Nicholas and Samantha Johnson, Michael (Lindsey) Smiley, Melanie (Brad) Kern, Mark (Allison) Smiley, Kora Smiley; 10 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Beverly Baker of Dow, Doris (Don) Winship of Anacortes, Wash.
Preceding in death were his paretns; granddaughter, Megan Smiley; brother, Dean Langin; and step-father, Kenneth Hofmeister.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m until time of service at 12 p.m. Friday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River. Rev. Kiimberly Allen and Scott Levan will officiate.
Private burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
