Brenda Champlin

Brenda Kaye (Belcher) Champlin, 61, passed away 5:33 p.m. Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Alton Memorial Hospital.Born in Alton on June 3, 1952, she was the daughter of Cecil and Helen (Feezel) Belcher.A 1970 graduate of Civic Memorial High School, she had worked as a clerk for the Cottage Hills Gas Mart and a donut maker for Country Fair in Bethalto.She married Charles F. Champlin on September 5, 1981 in Cottage Hills.  He survives.Surviving also are a daughter, Lisa Toenyes of Wood River; five grandchildren, Nicholas, Trenton and Kaeden Toenyes, Dakota Trigg, Austin Drach; three brothers, David Lebo of rosewood heights, Darrell (Carol) Belcher and Steven Belcher all of Cottage Hills; a sister, Nancy (Alan) Turner of Cottage Hills.Her parents and a daughter, Penny K. Bruce preceded in death.Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River, where services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday.  Rev. Sherri Richards will officiate.Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.Memorials may be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children.
