Audrey Friedel

Audrey M. Friedel, 75, passed away at 6:33 am Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton with her family by her side.

She was born on October 10, 1938 in Batchtown, the daughter of Clarence “Buns” & Marie (Fonck) Snyders.

She married Edward Friedel on May 2, 1959 in Hardin, IL and he preceded her in death on October 26, 1990.

She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto and retired from Owens-Brockway Glass Manufacturing in Godfrey as their traffic manager.  She was also a member of the Golden Emblem at O-I and O-I Lady retirees.

She is survived by five children and their spouses,  Edward Joseph “Joe” & Trish Friedel of Rosewood Heights,  Angela & Lee Rinderer of Highland, Rene & Bob Fite of Bunker Hill, Sue & Steve Vogel of Moro, and Dominic “Nick” & (Stacey Adams) Friedel of Bethalto; eleven grandchildren, Daniel, Michael, Zach, Nathan, Adam, Lexi, Stefani, Alyssa, Dominic, Jordan, and Abby, six great grandchildren, Sophia, Austin, Olivia, Noah, Kinlee, Raylynn, and Chase and one expectant great granddaughter, Skylar Grace; a sister and brother-in-law, Eunice & Bernard Woelfel of Michael; five sisters-in-law, Faye Snyders, Melba, Hazel and Ceal Friedel, and Sister Mary Gabriel Friedel; four brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law, Gabe Friedel, George & Agnes Friedel, Joe & Neat Friedel and Pat & Sharon Friedel. She is also survived by a long time companion, Dave Woltering of Bethalto and a special family friend, Kathy Kellim of Holiday Shores.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Lozell “Red” Snyders.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Tuesday October 29, 2013 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral in Bethalto and will continue from 9 am to 9:30 am Wednesday October 30, 2013.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Wednesday October 30, 2013 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto with Fr. Tom Liebler celebrant.

Burial will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
