Gordon Masterson—East Alton
Gordon L. Masterson, 83, passed away Friday, October 25, 2013 under the care of BJC Hospice.
Gordon was born Feb. 23, 1930 in Alton, the eldest son of the late Lawrence and Ethel (Naylor) Masterson.
He graduated from East Alton-Wood River High School, where he participated in track and wrestling. Gordon served four and a half years in the Air Force during the Korean War. He retired as a dispatching foreman at Laclede Steel, and he also owned Matt’s Rubber Stamps.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie nee Lawrence; a brother, Kenneth (Audrey) Masterson; a nephew; one special aunt; three uncles and numerous cousins.
The family extends a special “Thank You” to the close friends who took time to visit with him each week.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Oct. 29 at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights from 10 a.m. until services begin at 11 a.m.
Private burial will follow.
Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
