Tacy Stevens

Tacy Elizabeth Stevens, 92, formerly of Champaign and Tuscola, passed away at 12:45am on Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at Eden Village Care Center in Glen Carbon.  She was born on January 21, 1921, in Saybrook, Illinois the daughter of the late William H. and Merle I. (Rodawig) Henegar.  She married Benton Thomas Stevens on March 29, 1942, and he preceded her in death on January 22, 1986.  Survivors include three daughters and two sons in law: Barbara Jones of Champaign, Marjorie and Ken Hoedebecke of Charleston, Illinois, Vicki Stevens and her husband: James Royston of Edwardsville, one son and daughter in law: John and Cindy Stevens of Rockford, Illinois, a son in law: Edward T. McCarthy of Edwardsville, eight grandchildren: Steve Jones, Kristen Jones, Keith Stevens, Kate Greene and her husband: Bernt, Eric Hoedebecke, Jeff Hoedebecke and his wife: Beth, Kelly Faust, Elsa Zeller and her husband: Laren, eight great grandchildren, two great - great grandchildren, one brother: Donald Henegar of Sun Lakes, Arizona, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and other extended family and friends.

A homemaker, she was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great - great grandmother.  She was an avid seamstress.  She was an auxiliary volunteer at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.  She was a member of the University of Illinois Extension.  She was a member of the New Hope Primitive Baptist Church. 

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter: Janet McCarthy, one brother: James C. Henegar, and two sisters in law: Thelma Henegar and Mary Henegar.

In celebration of her life, memorial visitation will be from  6pm until time of memorial services at 7:30pm on Friday, October 18, 2013, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River.  Visitation will continue on Saturday, October 19, 2013, from 12:30pm until time of services at 1pm at the chapel at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Champaign.  Elder Randy Webb will officiate both services.

Memorials are suggested to Eden Village Care Center Memory Unit, 200 South Station Road, Glen Carbon, Illinois 62034.
