Kelly Eugene Harmon, 83, of Alton, IL, died at 7:30 a.m. Fri. Sept. 27, 2013 at VIP Manor in Wood River, IL with his family by his side.
He was born Oct. 23, 1929 in Shirley, MO to the late Roy Owen & Ella (Harper) Harmon.
On Oct. 12, 1949 he and Betty L. Pickett were married in Pocahontas, AR. She survives in Alton.
Kelly retired as a Scale Clerk from Reliance Quarry in 1993 after 45 years of service. He loved to fish and hunt and watch the Cardinals. He was a member of East Alton Assembly of God.
In addition to his wife of almost 64 years, he is survived by: 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth & Jody Harmon and Wayne & Pam Harmon of Alton, 4 grandchildren, Jason (Becca) Harmon, Leah (Jim) Nietubicz, Miranda Harmon and Bryan Harmon, 3 great-grandchildren, Alexis Harmon, Aidan Full and Gabby Nietubicz, 1 sister, Mildred Easley of Desoto, MO and 3 brothers, Cliff Harmon of Potosi, MO, Leroy Harmon of IN and Jim Harmon of Imperial, MO.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by: 2 sisters, Opal Eye & Virginia Woods and 2 brothers, Virgil & Clyde Harmon.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at 11:00 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30, 2013 at East Alton Assembly of God with Rev. Tim Keller officiating. Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to the East Alton Assembly of God or BJC Hospice.
