Mercedes Theresa Reynolds, 78, died at 12:00 noon Sunday, September 22, 2013 at Alton Rehab and Nursing. Born June 23, 1934 in Alton, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Helen (Pinkowski) Lara. She worked as a waitress for several Alton restaurants over the years. She enjoyed reading her Bible, taking walks, and spending time with her family. Surviving are four sons, Paul (Kathy) of Alton, Mike (Donna) of Alton, Mark (Robin) of Georgia, and Brad (Jean) of Alton, 7 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, three brothers, Armando, Edward, and Johnny Lara, and two sisters, Theresa Borders and Marlene Griffin. She was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Richard, Santos, Loretta, Cecelia, and Della. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
