Corda L. Phillips, age 101, of Jerseyville, formerly of Wood River, passed away Thursday, August 1, 2013, at Jerseyville Manor.
She was born June 10, 1912, in Pleasant Hill, IL, the daughter of Ed and Lula (Harlow) Hartsock.
She married Percy Phillips on November 7, 1931, in Pleasant Hill and he preceded her in death.
Corda worked at Olin Inc. as a machine operator for over 16 years, retiring in 1977. She was of the Methodist faith and was a past member of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by a sister, Dorothy Helms of Pleasant Hill, IL; twelve grandchildren, and twenty-nine great grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Percy; her parents; three sons, William Robert, Ronald Dean, and Larry Eugene; four brothers; and four sisters.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Sunday, August 4, 2013, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton, IL.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, August 5, 2013 at Word N Spirit Family Church, 5012 Humbert Rd., Alton, IL, with Brother Chad Martin officiating. A private family burial service will be held at a later date in Hamburg, IL.
