Norman Edward Delp, 57, died unexpectedly at 9:02 a.m., Friday, July 26, 2013 at his residence
He was born in Alton on Oct. 30, 1955, one of five children born to the late Roy Walter & Erika (Stegmann) Delp.
Norman grew up in Bethalto, and graduated in 1973 from Civic Memorial High School. He was a resident of Sand Springs, Ok., for many years where he was the owner/operator of Tulsa Pools in Tulsa, Ok. He returned back to the area in 2000, and was a member of Plasters and Cemetery Masons Local 90 out of Troy, and worked primarily with RCS Construction in Wood River.
For the past eleven years Norman has been in a loving relationship with Lana Scheffel, and the two married Aug. 5, 2010 in Las Vegas, Nevada, and she survives. Also surviving are a son & daughter in law. Kyle & Emilie Delp of Wood River; a daughter, Julie Delp, and her companion, Tyler Christensen of Bixby, Ok.; three grandchildren, Emma Delp, Jenna Foutch, and Callie Christensen; two sisters & brothers in law, Shirley & Randy Durbin of East Alton, and Renate & Phil Stassi of Roxana; two brothers, Larry Delp of Godfrey and Roger Delp of Sorento.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Ed Reynolds will officiate.
Burial will be in the Borlin Cemetery in rural Eldred.
Memorials may be given to his family in care of the Crawford Funeral Home.
