Evelyn L. Seal, 90, died at 2:37 a.m. Monday, July 8, 2013 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
She was born September 3, 1922 in Alton, the daughter of the late Lourn T. and Lula (Kerscher) Means. On January 17, 1943 in Springfield, Illinois she married David Henry Seal and he preceded her in death on December 9, 1971.
Surviving are one daughter; Sherry Hellrung and her husband Tom of Alton, three sons; Gary Seal and his wife Sharon of Alton, Lenny Seal and his wife Sherilyn of Wisconsin and Jett Seal and his wife Cindy of Wood River, six grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, two brothers; Harold Means of Alton and Maurice Means of Rosewood Heights. She was preceded in death by three brothers; Leroy, Thomas and Eugene and two sisters; Peggy and Ruth.
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Graveside service will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
