Lloyd Durham, 82, passed away at 1:45 am on Friday, May 18, 2012 at his home under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice.
He was born on March 5, 1930 in Thebes, IL, the son of Orville and Audra (Lovell) Durham.
He married Wanda D. Hardwick on November 12, 1951 in East Alton. She passed away November 27, 1996.
Lloyd was the owner/operator of Lloyd’s Auto Repair in Cottage Hills for twenty seven years, which then turned into Lloyd’s Transmission for twenty more years. He was a member of New Life Fellowship Church in Alton. He enjoyed fishing and traveling, but most of all loved spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his children and their spouses, Cindy and George Boud of East Alton, Patricia Bumgardner of Collinsville, Tammy Beran of Alton, Lisa Durham of Wood River, Lloyd and Diane Durham of Troy, Garry Durham of Cottage Hills and Donald and Mary Durham of Alton; twenty four grandchildren; thirty four great grandchildren; one great, great grandchild and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Ann Durham and seven brothers and sisters
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm on Monday, May 21, 2012 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
Funeral services will be 10 am on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at Liberty Worship Center, 8025 Goshen Road in Edwardsville with Pastor Carl Cook officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
