Ruth K. Beers, 90, passed away unexpectedly at 10:24 am Sunday, February 27, 2011 in the emergency room at Alton Memorial Hospital
She was born on June 13, 1920 in Belleville, IL, the daughter of Andrew and Mary (Gradl) Hilpert.
She married Eural D. Beers on January 24, 1942 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton. He preceded her in death on January 12, 1999.
She was a homemaker most of her life. She formerly was a member of St Matthews Catholic Church in Alton and presently attended Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Diane & Paul Bono of Leawood, Kansas and a son and daughter-in-law, Kevin & Tammy Beers of Prairietown; six grandchildren, Kenny Lenhardt, Dalton Beers, Arianna Bono, Brenden Case, Ashley Ream and Austin Ream; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Harold and Shirley Beers of Clarion, PA and Gerald and Betty Beers in Rosewood Heights.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a sister, Violet Ohler.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be 4 to 8 pm Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Friday, March 4, 2011 at the funeral home with Father Tom Liebler officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association.
