Stephen P. Zimmerman, age 54, passed away at 4:40 am Thursday, November 18, 2010 at Jersey Community Hospital with his wife by his side.
He was born in Jerseyville, IL on August 26, 1956, son of Donald and Edith (Montgomery) Zimmerman.
He married Janet Hays on March 11, 2000 in Dow, Illinois, and she survives.
Stephen was a maintenance man for Cahokia Marine/ Kinder-Morgan Inc. for 31 years, and was a farmer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, tending to his farm, and making deer meat, and enjoyed going with his wife to farm auctions.
He is survived by his Wife, Janet, two sons, Christopher Zimmerman of Fort Knox Tennessee, and Kevin J. Hays of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, two daughters, Jamie Jones of Jerseyville, Illinois, and Avnie Taylor also of Jerseyville, five grandchildren, one sister Karen Joy Barber of Killeen Texas, and his Mother and Father in law Evelyn and Jerry Sparks of St. Charles Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be Friday November 26, 2010 from 4 to 7pm at Elias Kallal and
Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey, with funeral services immediately following at 7pm.
Burial will take place at 11am Saturday November 27, 2010 at Scenic Hill Cemetery in Grafton, Illinois.
Memorials may be made to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and or American Cancer Society.
