Mildred Oschmann

Mildred Eileen Oschmann, 92, passed away at 2:22 a.m. Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at VIP Manor in Wood River.

Born Oct. 6, 1918 in McCrory, Ark., she was the daughter of Ruel Dee and Goldie (Jones) Collard.  She married Charles Henry Oschmann Nov. 3, 1950 in Cobden, Ill.  He passed away May 10, 1999.  She is survived by four daughters, Betty Pigg of Owensville, Mo., LaVada Bardsley of Bethalto, Eileen Marie Grigg and her husband Richard of East Alton, and Charlene Oschmann of Boise, Idaho; three sons, John Oschmann of Duluth, Minn., Tom Oschmann of Owensville, Mo., and Marshall Flynn of Tyler, Tex.; 23 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and five brothers, Adlee, Kenneth, Claude Riley, Herman, and J.L. Collard.

Visitation will be Monday, Nov. 22 at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights from 11 a.m. until services begin at 1 p.m.

Burial will be at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Everybody Wins USA, a national children’s literacy organization.
