Robert R. Bull, 63, died at 10:52 p.m. Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at his home in Alton surrounded by his loving family.
Born January 26, 1947 in Alton, he was the son of Maudie (McAdams) Bull Dorris of Alton and the late Leslie J. Bull. He retired in 2003 from the Ameren UE Portage Des Sioux Plant. He proudly served as a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was a beloved father and touched many people.
He married Paula Kay Read in Alton in February 1968. She survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Kelly K. Seymour and her husband Brent D. of Parkville, MO, Jennifer “Jay” Bull and husband Will Hunter of Murphysboro, IL and Erin A. Bull of Alton, four grandchildren, Caleb, Owen and Aidan Seymour and Reese K. Hafertepe, and a sister, Sandra Kay Brooks of Alton. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Timothy Bull.
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 9:00 a.m. Saturday. Reverend Dr. Glen Greenwood will officiate.
Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
Per Robert’s request, memorials may be made to the Treehouse Wildlife Refuge in Dow.
