Earl Jones, 83, of Crossville, passed away Saturday, September 11, 2010,
at 6:20 p.m. at the Meadowood Nursing Home in Grayville. He was born
March 28, 1927 in Centerville, IL, the son of John Paul and Lillie Grace
(Hansman) Jones. He married Wilma Joyce Jacobs, November 24, 1950. He
was a member of the McHenry Good News Church. He was a WWII Naval
Veteran. He was a Job Printer at the Carmi Times and then a maintainance
man at the Carmi State Police Post # 19. He was a member of the American
Legion and V.F.W.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years Wilma Jones of Crossville; two sons
and daughters-in-law Bob and Linda Jones of Jerseyville, IL, and Gary
and Kathryn Jones of Catlan, IL; a brother and sister-in-law Victor and
violet Jones of Carmi; four grandchildren Jason, Christopher, Melissa,
and Jeremy Jones; two great-grandchildren and three
step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother Paul Jones.
Funeral Services for Earl Jones, 83, of Crossville, will be Wednesday,
September 15, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi
with the Rev. Jerry Cawford officiating. Burial will be in the Stokes
Chapel Cemetery near Crossville. Friends may call at the Campbell
Funeral Home in Carmi on Tuesday, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Military
Graveside services will be conducted by the Combined units of the
American Legion and VFW
