Aran Weid

Eldred |

Aran Augusta Weid Jr., 50,  died Thursday, August 26, 2010 as a result of injuries sustained in a motorclcle/tractor accident west of Carrollton of Route 108.

He was born in Alton on Feb. 20, 1960, and was the son of Aran A. & Thelma (Ennis) Weid Sr.  He spent his childhood in Grafton, and graduated in 1978 from Jersey Community High Schoo.

He had previously worked at Beverly Farms in Godrey, and was currently employed for the past 13 years at Bulk Services in Granite City.

He married the former Susan J. Dunham of Eldred on May 20, 1989 at the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in rural Carrollton, and she survives.

Also surviving are three children,  Amber Dunham, and her fiance', Aaron Curtis Jr of Carrollton, Aran F. Weid and Brittany Weid both at home; a grandson, Mattthew Thomas Curtis; four sisters, Cathy Bell, and her companion, Eldon Green of Brighton, Mary & Jim Godar of Hardin, Lula & Richard Flowers of Grafton, Josephine Talbert of Grafton; three brothers & sisters in law, John Kukawski of Grafton, Mike & Marie Weid of Alton, and Charlie & Allison Weid of Wood River.  He is also survived by numerous neices and nephews, and beloved sisters in law & brothers in law.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma Weid; his father & stepmother, Aran & Myrna Weid; two infant sisters, and a brother in law, Walter Talbert.


Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Wednesday until time of funeral services at 1 p.m., at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.  Rev. John Hardwick from the Eldred Baptist Church will officiate.


Burial will be in the Eldred Memorials Gardens Cemetery.


Memorials may be given to his children in care of the funeral home.
