Josephine Rose Marie Brandt, 94, passed away at 7:12 p.m. Sunday, July 4, 2010 at Bethalto Care Center.
Born Sept. 29, 1915 in St. Louis, she was a daughter of Samuel and Angela (Caito) Sansone.
She married John George Brandt Jan. 8, 1933 in Venice, Ill. He passed away Feb. 8, 1973.
She was a member of Open Door Fellowship Church in Alton for many years. An avid bowler, she bowled in leagues for 43 years until 2005.
She is survived by a son, John Brandt of Godfrey; five daughters, Josephine (Harold) Naegele of Theodosia, Mo., Joan Sneed Walton of Cottage Hills, Joyce (Jim) Livingston of Piedmont, Mo., June Brandt of Cottage Hills, and Jenny (Mike) Tumbas of St. Louis; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, James Brandt; a daughter, Margaret Sigelinski; and 14 brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, July 8 at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights, and will continue Friday, July 9 at Open Door Fellowship, 929 Milnor Street in Alton from 9 a.m. until services are conducted at 10 a.m. by Bro. Antone Maggos.
Burial will follow at Friedens Cemetery in St. Louis.
