Gene Williams

Gene Autrey Williams, 69, died at 4:20 p.m., Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Jerseyville Manor Nursing Home.

He was born in Alton on April 2, 1941, the son of the late Frank & Lillie Mae (Brown) Williams.Gene had been employed as a meat cutter for Diamond Meat Packing in Carlinville for many years, and is survived by three older children, Gene, Kenny & Sandra Dee.He later married the former Kathy Baker, and together they had three children whom survivies, Scott Williams of Jerseyville, JoAnn and her husband, James McAdams of Jerseyville, and Rhonda & Joseph Burns of Hayward, Ca.; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Barb Menzie of Alton, and Charlotte of Elsah: three brothers, Clyde Williams of Jerseyville, Larry Williams of Carrollton, and Paul Williams of Alton.Per his request, cremation has taken place and private family services will be held.Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville is in charge of the arrangements.
