Robert Wayne Lawson King, age 51, went to be with the Lord at 12:48 pm on Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
He was born on March 27, 1959, in Wood River IL, son of Monroe Tomerlin and Lathelda
(King) Klaus.
Bob was employed at the Bethalto School District in the maintenance dept. and McDonalds’s Restaurant. He was a past member of the Assembly of God Church in Cottage Hills, where he helped with the men’s ministry, youth group and was a Royal Ranger. He is now a member of the Cornerstone Church in Bethalto. He enjoyed music and using his computer and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his mother; one brother, Milburn King of East Alton; one nephew; two nieces; one uncle; two aunts; several cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his, father; stepfather Walter Klaus and one infant brother Darrel Lynn King.
Visitation will be from 9:30 am until funeral service at 11 am on Friday, July 9, 2010, at Cornerstone Church in Bethalto with Pastor Phil Schneider officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be given to the family in care of the funeral home.
