Kevin Mike Proffer, 51, died at 5:17 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at his home in Brighton.
Born October 19, 1958 in Houston, TX, he was the son of Billlie Dale and Rosalie (Smith) Proffer. He had worked for Hornsey Moving and Storage.
Surviving is his former wife, Mary (Marin) Proffer of Alton, two sons, Michael Proffer and his wife Rachel of Odessa, TX and Tommy Proffer and his wife Avamarie of Alton, three grandchildren, Michael, Miranda and April Proffer and another Proffer grandchild on the way, three brothers, Billie Dale Proffer Jr. and wife Barbara Jean, Tuscumbia, Alabama, Leroy Proffer and wife Michelle of Southern Missouri and Neil Proffer of Alton, three sisters, Becky Proffer Wiley and husband David Edward of Jerseyville, Sandi Proffer Spaulding and husband Tim of Alton and Kitty Proffer Castelli of Jerseyville, nieces and nephews, Tim Spaulding, Chris Spaulding, Matt Spaulding, Nikki and Dan Ludwig and daughter Katelyn Ludwig, Dell Proffer, Gary Proffer, Tyler Proffer, Shawn Castelli, Kenny Castelli, Kevin Mansell and a special niece, Misty Klug and husband Matt Klug and daughter, Arabella Rose Klug.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 3:00-4:00 p.m. Friday at Gent Funeral Home in Alton with cremation to follow.
