Dorothy L. Hedges, 90, passed away at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 27, 2010 at her home.
Born Oct. 5, 1919 in Ridgway, Ill., she was a daughter of Joseph Otis and Lillie (Jones) Maloney.
She married Harrell P. Hedges Oct. 29, 1939 in Morganfield, Ky. He passed away June 19, 1986.
For over 30 years she worked as a tracer in the loading and packing department of Olin Corp. She was a member of the Westerner Club and the Senior Citizens of both Wood River and East Alton.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda Kaye and Randy Tite of Brighton; three grandchildren, Gregory Tite and his wife Tisa, Traci Fallenstein and her husband Bruce, and Chelsea Tite; 6 great grandchildren, Cody, Brandon, Jacob, Joshua and Joseph Fallenstein and Heath Tite; a sister, Lillian Catherine Hargraves of Omaha, Ill.; and a sister-in-law, Bernita Maloney of Wood River.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Janet Marie Hedges; three sisters, Mary Louise Siener, Eva Marie Webb, and Anna Bernice Franich; and three brothers, Ronald Eugene, William T., and Charles Maloney.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 30 at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m., when Rev. John Blackmore will officiate services.
Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be given to St. Anthony’s Hospice.
