JERSEYVILLE- Marjorie Ann Stinnett, 79, died at 7:20 a.m., Friday, June 25, 2010 at Jerseyville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center from complications resulting from pancreatic cancer.She was born in Jerseyville on May 21, 1931, the daughter of the late Harold "Bud" & Anna L. (Long) Schneider. She was a 1949 graduate of Jersey Township High School, and married her best friend, William Thoms Stinnett on Oct. 6, 1951 at the St. Michael's Catholic Church in Greenfield.  They made their home in Jerseyville for the majority of their 48 year marriage and raised their three children.  After his death on Feb. 11, 2000, Marjorie occupied her time with children, grandchildren and the Red Hat Ladies Society.Marjorie worked at various locations and occupations throughout her life, beginning as a telephone operator in Jerseyville, Al Can Inc. in Alton, and Baughmanns Manufacturing in Jerseyville.  She also worked at the State Journal Register in Springfield, and was a secretary for Peace United Church of Christ in Jerseyville,  and retired as a cashier at Wal-Mart.She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jerseyville and was also a member of the Ladies of the Elks.Surviving are a daughter & son in law, Beth & Dave Dalton of Jerseyville; two sons & a daughter in law, Ben & Nancy Stinnett of Shipman and Tim Stinnett of St. Charles, Mo.; six grandchildren & their spouses, Gina & Erick Miller of Phoenix, Az., Joshua & Mandi Ealey of Elsah, Allen Ealey of Alton, Lucas & Heidi Ealey of Delhi, Jonathan Stinnett, and his fiance', Heather of Cottage Grove, Or., and Jo-Anna & Luke Ivers of Mountain View, Ca.; two great grandchildren, Garren & Shauna Miller of Phoenix; She is also survived by a dear friend whom she considered to be daughter, Janice Arnold and her companion, Daniel Wilson of Jerseyville as well as her children & spouses Brian & Ashley Arnold of Grafton, Jennifer & Louis Stumpe of Jerseyville and Andrea Arnold of Glen Carbon and their families.Preceding her in death in addition to her parents and husband, was an infant son, Thomas Clay Stinnett, a brother, James Schneider, and a sister, Marcella Dunn.Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday.  Longtime family friend, Robert Lucas, will officiate.Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.Memorials may be given to her family in care of the funeral home.
