Carolyn "Kay" Williams, 71, passed away at 7:49 pm on Thursday, June 24, 2010 at Alton Memorial Hospital with her family by her side.
She was born on January 30, 1939 in Iuka, Illinois, the daughter of Del Keller and Ruth (Boyles) & John Karm.
She married Edward R. Williams on February 24, 1962 in East Alton, Illinois He survives.
Kay worked as a secretary and at Callahan’s Ceramic Shop, but was a homemaker for most of her life. She was of the Baptist faith. She was a member of the Bethalto Women’s Club, the Red Hat Society and Bethalto TOPS. She enjoyed sewing, painting ceramics, going to her grandson’s ballgames, shopping with her daughter, eating at Josephine’s Tea Room, having coffee at the Bethalto Pancake Ranch, spending time on her computer, networking with other people and talking and bragging about her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children and their spouses, Eric & Alison Williams of Bethalto, Tim & Jeanne Williams of Edwardsville, Christy & Randy Crocker of Saint Louis, MO and Melissa "Missy" Georgeoff of Bethalto; eleven grandchildren, Nick & Dustin Williams, Erika & her spouse, Chris Ayers, Matt & Holly Williams, Ronnie Miller, Taylor & Cameron Crocker and Kaylee, Brayden & Chelsea Georgeoff; one great grandson, Jacob Miller and two sisters, Phyllis Linder of Iuka, IL and Leota Borgelt of Hoffman, IL; a half brother and sister, Walt Keller and Rhonda Jourdan and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be from 3 pm to 7 pm on Sunday, June 27, 2010 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Funeral services will be at 11 am on Monday, June 28, 2010 at the funeral home with Chaplain Bruce Baumberger officiating.
Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto
Memorials may be given to the Siteman Cancer Center.
