Phillip E. Burch Sr., 54, died at 9:05 a.m. Monday, June 21, 2010 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Born January 17, 1956 in Jerseyville, he was the son of Herschel "Red" Burch of Lynchburg, VA and the late Dixie (Bailey) Burch. He worked as a parts manager at Quality Pontiac GMC Cadillac Buick since September of 2000 and was a member of the Godfrey First United Methodist Church.
On April 24, 2005 in Alton, he married the former Leslie (Diskin) Kerr. She survives. Also surviving is a daughter, April Burch and her significant other, Brad Pyatt of Alton, a son, Phillip E. Burch Jr. and his wife Joy of Wood River, four grandchildren, Aidan and Myah Burch and Kayleigh and Cianna Pyatt, one brother, Doug Burch and his wife Trish of Lynchburg, VA and his mother-in-law, Mary Diskin of Godfrey. He was preceded in death by his mother.
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. Reverend Don E. Long Jr. will officiate.
Memorials may be made to the Godfrey First United Methodist Church Building Fund.
