Joan M. Armstrong, 76, passed away at 10:10 a.m. Monday, June 14, 2010 at University nursing and Rehab Center in Edwardsville.
Born July 8, 1933 in Eldorado, Ill., she was a daughter of Anton and Mary Julia (Wargel) Muenstermann.
She married Roy E. Armstrong Jan. 1, 1985 in Wood River. He passed away May 23, 2007.
A bartender for the Wood River Moose Lodge, she retired in 2000 after 19 years.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Gerry Muenstermann of Staunton; 6 grandsons, Jeremy Steeb, T.J. Muenstermann, Michael A. Cerentano, Jr., Ryan N. Cerentano, and Brent L. and Tyler D. Muenstermann; 6 great grandchildren, Brooke A. Nicholas, Nolan M., Lilly K., and Mallory R. Cerentano, and Ayden L. and Aava M. Muenstermann ;3 sisters, Betty Bruce and Roselie Gunn, both of Indianapolis, Ind., and Rita Bono of Mt. Olive; a brother and sister-in-law, Pete and Dode Muenstermann of Marion, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a sister; and four brothers.
According to her wishes, there will be no services.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
