Dorothy L. Doerr, 91, died at 7:05 p.m., June 10, 2010 at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton.
She was born February 7, 2010 in Jersey County the daughter of Charles and Ora (Lyles) Grizzle.
She married Herman Doerr on May 2, 1948. He preceded her in death January 21, 1998.
She lived in Jersey and Madison County area all of her life. She was a sales clerk at Sears Roebuck & Company for ten years. Dorothy enjoyed playing cards, Bunko and Dominos and also loved sewing, fishing and cooking for her extended family. She was a member of the Evangelical United Church of Christ.
She is survived by two sons Fred Doerr of Alton, Steve and spouse Nancy Doerr of Bethalto, one daughter Gracie Ball of St, Petersburg, FL, four grandchildren Linda Readinger, Lori Strauss, Jaynie Doerr and spouse Charlie Deutsch, Peter Doerr, seven great grandchildren Christina Vega, Gregory and Jennifer Strauss, Amy Martin, Ashley Readinger Angie Graybill, Gage Doerr, two great great grandchildren Madison and Bailey Graybill, one sister Vera Wendt of Alton, three brothers Ralph and Doris Grizzle of Hardin, Joe Grizzle of Carrolton, Dave and Barb Grizzle of Roodhouse and one sister in law Maxine Grizzle of Carrolton.
Her parents, husband, one sister Evelyn Johnessee, three brothers George "John", Charles and Alvin Grizzle, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be Sunday June 13, 2010 from 12 to 4 pm, at Elias Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton. Funeral Service will be Monday June 14, 2010 at 10 am at the funeral home with Rev. Daniel Decker.
Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
Memorials may be made to the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or American Heart Association.
