Ingeburg Sales, 81, died at 7:45 a.m. Thursday, June 10, 2010 at her home, surrounded by her loving family, and went to be with her heavenly father.
Born May 6, 1929 in Chemnitz, Germany, she was the daughter of Kurt Muenzner and her step-mother Rosemary. On October 25, 1948 she married Delmar E. Sales in Ascharfenburg, Germany. He preceded her in death in 1983. She then married William L. Capps in 1985. He preceded her in death in 2003. She retired from the Alton School District after 15 years as a cook at West Middle School. She enjoyed polka dancing, traveling, bird watching and crafts. She loved to sketch art work and she loved pets.
In addition to her special friend, Rhaban Hoene, survivors include two sons, Michael D. Sales and Kevin E. Sales and his wife Jennifer, two step-daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Sam Roberts of Alton and Debra and Steve Gross of Grafton, one step-son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Sharon Capps of Edwardsville, two grandchildren, Jacob M. Sales of Bethalto and Tammy Watts of St. Louis, MO, four step grandchildren, Cristin Capps, Leslie Wilson of Godfrey, Colt Gross of Granite City, Jaclyn Bagley of Wood River, two great grandchildren, Owen and Kasten Watts of St. Louis, MO, two step great grandchildren, Janelle Wilson of Godfrey and Jaelyn Bagley of Wood River, her sister, Renate of Germany, her Aunt Irene Jaehnig and her husband Eberhard of Germany, other close family and friends, Carl and Alberta Capps of Brighton and Kathleen Kindle of Pittsfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Manfred Muenzner.
Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 9:00 a.m. Saturday. Reverend Lionel Gruver will officiate. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
