Charles H. Van Wie, 67, passed away at 9:26 a.m. Saturday, June 5, 2010 at Christian Hospital Northeast in St. Louis.
Born Oct. 18, 1942 in Canajoharie, N.Y., he was a son of John and Annastasia (Groff) Van Wie.
He and the former Anita F. Dunston were married on Feb. 21, 1970 in Alton. She survives.
A senior software engineer analyst, he retired after 30 years from C.S.C. Corp.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Edward Van Wie of Lake Ozark, Mo. and Jeff and Randi Van Wie of Rosewood Heights; two grandchildren, Regan and Rickie Van Wie; and a brother and sister-in-law, Allen and Sandy Van Wie of Canajoharie.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, June 11 at Paynic Home for Funerals in East Alton, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 12.
Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Canajoharie, N.Y.
