Hazel I. Wallace, age 91, passed away at 4:10 am, Monday, May 31, 2010, Friendship Case Center in Carlinville, IL.
She was born in Jerseyville, IL on March 21, 1919 the daughter of the late Ernest and Freda (McCoy) Ayers.
She married Louis (Bud) Wallace September 21, 1936 he preceded her in death.
Hazel was a homemaker all of life and she is survived by five children and their spouses Raymond and Delores (Orban) Wallace of Bethalto, Ronald and Bernice (Scoggins) Wallace of Quincy, IL, Zelda and Kelly Cato of East Alton, Audrey and Larry Wells of OK, Ramona and Dennis Flack of Hartford; thirteen grandchildren and their spouses Gary Wallace, Greg and Shelley Wallace, Debra and Mark Wheeler, Todd Wallace, Chad Wallace, Alisha and Deron Taul, Brock and Julie Cato, Dathan Cato, Matthew Wells, Christopher and Elizabeth Wells, Tammy and Christopher Ammann, Melissa Flack, she was also a great grandmother to Kelli Rae, Brady, Kimberly, Josh, Kyle, Adam and Zachary Wallace, Stone, Thorne and Brooke Taul, Zacary and Mackenzie Cato. She was a sister to Vernon Ayres, Raymond Ayres, Ernie Ayres, Juanita Garrett, Grace Oliver, Phyllis Haynes, Mary Cresswell and the late Everett and Harold Ayres and two infant sisters Marita and Emma Ayres.
Visitation will be from 10 to 12 pm Thursday June 3, 2010 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey with the service following at 12 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Tim Keller officiating.
Burial will follow at Otterville Cemetery in Otterville, IL.
Memorials may be made to the BJC Hospice.
