Carl C. Hendricks, Jr., 62, passed away at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday, May 30, 2010 at home with his family by his side.
He was born on August 9, 1947, in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Carl and Pauline (Winfrey) Hendricks.
He married the former Deborah D. Burgess on May 8, 1969 in Bethalto. She survives.
He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He lived in the Bethalto area most of his life, attended Bethalto CM High School and then received a bachelor's degree in Chemistry at SIU in Edwardsville. He was a chemist for Nalco Chemical Company, retiring in 1988. He enjoyed fishing, boating and spending time with his two grandsons.
In addition to his wife, Deborah of Mt. Olive and his mother, Pauline of Wood River, he is survived by one daughter, Dawn (Hendricks) Huth; one brother, William Hendricks; three sisters, Jo Ann Hendricks, Barbara Davis and Patty Panzier, all of Bethalto and two grandsons, Brandon Hendricks and Nicklaus Huth.
Carl was preceded in death by his father, Carl C. Hendricks, Sr.
A private memorial service will be held for family and friends.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
